Amtore, since its foundation, has already installed hundreds of kilometers of metropolitan optical networks, mainly in the city of Rio de Janeiro, having as its main customers the telecommunications companies that emerged after the privatization of the Telebrás System in 1995.
This experience includes services provided to Embratel, Vivo, Intelig, TIM, MetroRED, AT&T, Impsat, Global Crossing, Internexa, Mundivox, Ufinet, Data Corpore, among others. This curriculum allowed Amtore to partner with the Rio Subway to implement, maintain and operate a network of optical fibers for commercial purposes in the leasing of dark fibers in the main neighborhoods of the city of Rio de Janeiro. Our fibers serve companies such as TV Globo, Eletromídia and others.
Optical Network Modernization
2016 Olympics, Rio de Janeiro
Through the agreement signed between Claro and the Rio de Janeiro Subway, Amtore installed the new optical cable network intended to support the backbone for communications during the 2016 Olympics. This new network enabled the transmission of images and data from the main competition venues, as well as becoming as a legacy for the expansion of the infrastructure of the Claro network in the city of Rio de Janeiro.

Dark Fiber
Rio de Janeiro
Around the beginning of the millennium, Amtore already accumulated dozens of projects for the implementation of fiber optic networks, mainly in partnerships signed with the Rio de Janeiro Metro, having as clients the telecommunications companies that emerged after the opening of the Brazilian market to the private sector in 1995. The main ones involved the construction of networks for intelig, impsat, metrorede, global crossing and vivo.
This background made it possible for Amtore to sign an exclusive agreement with the Rio de Janeiro Metro, signed in 2005, with the aim of implementing, maintaining and managing dark fiber networks for use by companies from different segments related to the technology area.
This agreement, still in action, establishes that Amtore will, with its own resources, build and manage a network of optical cables with an extension of more than 50 kilometers, for commercial purposes, in the lease of erased fibers to internet providers, media companies, datacenters, telecommunications operators and other potential customers related to data communication, image transmission and associated services.
Through this network are connected data centers, voice and data transport services for telecommunications operators, live video transmission for TV stations, mission-critical security and surveillance systems, data traffic from several free Hotspots for internet access, interconnection of repeaters for mobile telephony and exchanged communication systems, in addition to other functionalities.

Technical Report and Infrastructure Inspection
AES COM
In 2007 Amtore was hired by AES COM to carry out a survey and prepare a technical report on the conditions of the cable infrastructure, installed in 2002 in the Zuzu Angel Tunnel – in the Metropolitan region of Rio de Janeiro, for the network constructed jointly between AT&T, INTELIG and VIVO between Gávea and Barra da Tijuca.
The technical report aimed to verify the conditions of the infrastructure and check for possible corrosion that could have occurred during the 5 years that the infrastructure had been installed in the Tunnel. Since no significant damage was found on that occasion, the infrastructure was cleared for AES COM to install new cables along the route.

Long Distance Network Installation
VIVO / TELESP
In 2004 Amtore was hired by TELESP to install 22 km of optical cables between Nova Dutra and the Teleport of Rio de Janeiro, with the intent of installing the last mile of land redundancy, for the existing Submarine Cable between the coast of São Paulo and the city of Rio de Janeiro.
This new network, with a capacity for 30 Gbps links, would reinforce the availability of data traffic between the largest Brazilian capitals. This project which included the cable installation, splicing and testing were classified as an emergency by TELESP, was carried out by Amtore teams in a total period of less than 20 days.
